Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, creating an inviting and friendly environment
• Manage restaurant reservation systems efficiently to accommodate guest requests and optimize seating flow
• Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or specials
• Handle phone communications with professionalism, including taking reservations and answering inquiries with clear phone etiquette
• Maintain organized table management using restaurant POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure smooth seating operations
• Assist in coordinating wait times and communicating with kitchen staff to manage guest expectations effectively
• Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness and proper handling of guest areas and tableware

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in food service hospitality roles with strong guest relations skills
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software and restaurant table management systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on friendly phone etiquette
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest needs simultaneously
• Basic math proficiency for handling seating calculations and POS transactions
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient order processing and billing
• Understanding of food safety practices to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff
