Restaurant Host/Hostess

Koharu Sushi & Ramen is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Restaurant Host/Hostess to welcome guests and support the front-of-house team. This role involves greeting customers, managing seating flow, assisting with reservations and waitlists, answering basic restaurant questions, and helping maintain a welcoming dining environment. The ideal candidate is professional, attentive, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide courteous, professional service
• Manage guest arrivals, seating, and dining-room flow
• Maintain accurate waitlists and reservation information
• Communicate table availability and guest needs with servers and management
• Answer basic questions about menu items, restaurant services, and seating
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus when appropriate
• Monitor the host stand and keep the entry area organized
• Assist with takeout or pickup inquiries when needed
• Help maintain clean and presentable guest areas
• Support servers and other front-of-house team members during busy periods
• Follow restaurant service, safety, and sanitation procedures
• Assist with opening, closing, and other routine restaurant duties

Qualifications

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful
• Friendly and professional communication skills
• Strong organization and interpersonal abilities
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable interacting with guests in a busy restaurant environment
• Able to manage multiple guest requests efficiently
• Good attention to detail when handling reservations and seating information
• Ability to work cooperatively with servers, managers, and other team members

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
