Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Restaurant Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. In this vital role, you will create a positive and memorable dining experience by managing reservations, greeting guests with enthusiasm, and coordinating seating arrangements efficiently. Your friendly demeanor and organizational skills will ensure smooth guest flow and exceptional customer service from the moment they arrive until they leave. Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
• Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while maintaining guest comfort
• Answer incoming phone calls with courteous phone etiquette, assisting with reservation inquiries and waitlist updates
• Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting areas
• Support food service staff by providing accurate guest counts and seating instructions as needed

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar guest-facing role within a restaurant environment
• Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interactions
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with strong organizational skills
• Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and guest counts accurately
• Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems for smooth operations
• Exceptional customer service skills, demonstrating hospitality and guest relations expertise
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is a plus
• Experience in food service or hospitality industry preferred but not required

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
