Duties

• Greet guests with a friendly, positive attitude as they arrive and depart, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they walk in
• Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in seating requests using popular restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization while accommodating special requests and guest preferences
• Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing accurate wait times and reservation details while practicing excellent phone etiquette
• Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests, ensuring smooth flow during busy hours
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, including menus and reservation logs
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure guest needs are anticipated and met promptly

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a warm, approachable demeanor
• Proficiency in restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is desirable
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail in phone conversations and guest interactions
• Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist management, and table counts accurately
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently
• Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to enhance guest relations
• Experience with POS systems like Micros POS or Aloha POS is a plus but not required
• Ability to remain energetic, positive, and professional during busy service hours
