We are seeking an experienced, polished, and highly professional Lead Hostess to lead our front-of-house greeting experience. The ideal candidate understands that the first impression sets the tone for the entire evening, whether it happens over the telephone, through a reservation inquiry, or at the moment a guest walks through our doors.

We are looking for someone with a warm personality, excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and previous New York City restaurant experience who takes pride in delivering hospitality at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities

• Create an exceptional first impression for every guest, both over the phone and in person.
• Greet guests warmly and professionally while maintaining an elegant, welcoming presence.
• Answer phone calls with confidence, courtesy, and proper telephone etiquette.
• Manage reservations, seating arrangements, waitlists, and guest requests efficiently.
• Coordinate closely with management and the service team to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming host stand at all times.
• Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace, discretion, and professionalism.
• Manage guest flow and table rotation while maintaining the highest standards of service.
• Lead and support the hostess team, ensuring consistent hospitality standards.
• Maintain accurate reservation notes and communicate VIP guests, special occasions, and important requests to management.
• Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor throughout every shift.

Required Qualifications

• Previous New York City restaurant experience is required.
• Previous experience in an upscale, fine-dining, or high-volume restaurant environment is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience as a Lead Hostess, Head Hostess, or senior host is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
• A polished, professional, and welcoming personality.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with restaurant reservation and table-management systems.
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and gracious under pressure.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to set a positive example for the team.
• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
