Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional first impression
• Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts efficiently using restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Answer incoming phone calls with courteous phone etiquette, assist with reservation inquiries, and handle guest requests promptly
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction
• Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
• Support food service staff by managing guest flow and ensuring smooth transitions between seating and service
• Uphold food safety standards and ensure cleanliness in the host/hostess station area

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting is preferred, along with food service experience
• Strong communication skills with the ability to handle phone calls professionally and courteously
• Proficiency in restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Excellent organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow effectively
• Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and guest counts accurately
• Knowledge of hospitality principles and guest relations best practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive guest interactions
• Commitment to food safety standards and excellent customer service
