Job Summary

The Elephant Room is seeking a dependable and hardworking Restaurant Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations, assist with food preparation, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service, proper sanitation, and consistent food preparation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff with daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Wash, peel, cut, and organize ingredients as directed.
• Prepare basic ingredients and supplies for cooking and service.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize countertops, sinks, appliances, and food-preparation areas.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workstations.
• Restock ingredients, kitchen supplies, and service items as needed.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries.
• Follow proper food-handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Help maintain orderly refrigerators, storage areas, and kitchen supplies.
• Support cooks and other kitchen team members during busy service periods.
• Remove waste and maintain clean floors and clear walkways.
• Report equipment problems, supply shortages, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine kitchen cleaning duties.
• Follow workplace safety rules and restaurant procedures.
• Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, kitchen, or food service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen.
• Flexible availability for shifts based on restaurant needs.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
