Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen and bar staff
• Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, including handling cash, processing sales transactions, and providing correct change
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menu offerings, including food safety standards, wine pairings, spirits, and cocktail recipes to assist guests effectively
• Ensure sanitation and food handling protocols are followed diligently; assist with bussing tables and resetting for new guests
• Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving any concerns professionally

Skills

• Extensive food service experience in fine dining restaurant environments with a focus on guest satisfaction
• Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail mixing techniques, and beverage presentation standards
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy service hours
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
• Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation and cash handling; attention to detail is essential
• Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity is a plus for understanding food preparation processes
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and restaurant revenue
• Experience with reservation systems like OpenTable or similar platforms is advantageous
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices in the food industry
• Effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with kitchen staff and fellow servers
• Hospitality mindset focused on creating memorable dining experiences through attentive service
