No.5 offers an intimate Italian dining experience in the heart of Queenstown. Alongside The Spire Hotel and luxury yacht, The Pacific Jemm, we are committed to delivering world-class hospitality with warmth, style and charisma.

We're looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team and become the driving force behind the guest experience at No.5 Church Lane.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead the restaurant with confidence, energy and genuine hospitality, creating an environment where guests feel welcomed, valued and eager to return.

You'll also:

• Lead the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring every service runs seamlessly.
• Deliver warm, personalised service and create memorable guest experiences.
• Build genuine relationships with our regular guests and visitors alike.
• Inspire, coach and develop a high-performing front-of-house team.
• Lead by example on the floor during service.
• Manage stock control and ordering.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing and operational standards.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures.
• Work closely with the kitchen and wider management team to continually improve service and performance.
• Identify opportunities during quieter periods to train staff, improve systems, refresh the venue, complete projects and ensure the restaurant is always operating at its best.

• Proven experience managing a quality restaurant or Food & Beverage team.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to motivate, mentor and develop your team.
• A calm, hands-on approach with the confidence to lead from the floor.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive mindset—you naturally find opportunities to improve the business, especially during quieter periods.
• Experience with stock management, rostering and restaurant operations.
• A current Duty Manager's Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).
• New Zealand work rights and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
