Restaurant Manager

CAVE is a Japanese sake bar and tapas restaurant in the heart of Arrowtown, offering a sophisticated dinner experience alongside a carefully curated sake, Japanese whiskey, and Central Otago wine. We also serve casual Japanese lunch - ramen, sushi, and donburi. We are looking for an Restaurant Manager to lead our front-of-house operations and help deliver an exceptional guest experience across both our lunch and dinner services.

The role includes:
Day-to-day management of FOH operations and floor service
Overseeing bar operations
Staff rostering, training, and performance management
Reservation management and guest relations
Contributing to menu planning in consultation with the kitchen team
Planning and organising special functions and events
Arranging purchasing and pricing of goods in line with budget
Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
Stock control and ordering for front-of-house supplies
Liaising with the kitchen team on service flow and menu delivery
Ensuring dining facilities meet health, safety, and hygiene requirements
Ensuring LCQ compliance and responsible service of alcohol
Actively seeking and responding to guest feedback to maintain service standards
Assisting with social media and marketing as required

What we are looking for:
Minimum 3 years experience in a restaurant Front of House role
Strong knowledge of food and beverage service
Must have a NZ Duty Manager Licence
Ability to lead a small team in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Ideally speak Japanese
Experience in Japanese cuisine
A genuine passion for Japanese food and beverage culture
