The Role

As Restaurant Manager, you will lead our front-of-house team at Kobe Cuisine, Millbrook's Japanese-inspired restaurant, ensuring exceptional service and seamless evening dining experiences for our guests.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, is passionate about hospitality, and takes pride in delivering memorable dining experiences. You will oversee daily restaurant operations, lead and develop the front-of-house team, collaborate closely with the kitchen brigade, manage guest feedback, and drive service excellence through leading by example.

Kobe Cuisine offers a refined dining experience inspired by Japanese flavours, techniques, and hospitality. As Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining high service standards, creating a positive team culture, and ensuring every guest receives the warm, personalised service for which Millbrook Resort is renowned.

You will also take an active role in recruitment, onboarding, training, stock management, and continuous improvement, helping to foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Success Profile

• Two years of relevant previous experience in a similar position in a busy five-star Hotel/Resort required.
• Must have completed a Licence Controller Qualification.
• A current Manager’s Certificate is preferable.
• High level of communication skills (written & verbal).
• Proven ability and desire to continually provide superior customer service.
• Excellent management and organisational skills.
• Proven experience in stockake and cost control required.
• Knowledge of Agylysis POS system desirable.
• Experience in training and motivating staff, coupled with a strong commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evening shifts and public holidays.
• Drivers Licence is preferable, owing to Arrowtown location and shift patterns - you must be able to make your own way to and from work.

Location:  Arrowtown, Queenstown

Hours:  Permanent, full time guaranteed 30 hours per week

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $32.00 gross per hour depending on experience
