The Black Dog Tavern Company LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager. The Restaurant Manager will possess a demonstrated passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in restaurant management.

Restaurant Manager Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in hospitality or restaurant management
• 2+ years’ prior management experience in a high volume, full-service and quick-service restaurant environment
• Availability to work days, nights and weekends
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Plan, organize and execute events including conceptualizing ideas to managing logistics while ensuring a successful event experience for clients and guests
• Proficiency with financial management and budgeting
• Actively support a culture of safety which includes food safety, team member safety and customer safety as well as HACCP procedures
• Wine, spirits, and beer knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with guests and employees at all levels
• Proficiency with TOAST POS system
• Possess or obtain SERV Safe Food Manager, Alcohol certification, MA Allergen Awareness Certification, and TIPS Certification
• Working knowledge of all equipment, maintenance and operation including liquor and soda dispensing equipment, and beer systems
• Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
• Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, walk frequently, bend, squat or reach

Restaurant Manager Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of our full-service restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service
• Order food, beverage and alcohol supplies for restaurant and bakery locations
• Open availability with a strong consistent floor presence
• Manage and train staff with a focus on a positive and productive environment
• Monitor financial performance, including budgets, cost control, and revenue management
• Attract and retain customers; handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
• Collaborate with all kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless operations
• Follow and ensure team member compliance with all health, safety, food handling and hygiene standards

Our Water St. Bakery features quick, freshly made sandwiches and breakfast items, alongside our delightful pastries. Additionally, the Bakery Café offers a comprehensive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as specialty coffees, cakes, pastries, and more. During the season, our Dockside Café is open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages.
