About Vada

Vada is a small neighbourhood restaurant in Stoneybatter, recognised in the Michelin Guide. We’re a 35 seat room with a close knit, friendly team, a loyal local following and a real love of good food, local produce and natural wine. Our regulars are our friends, and so are the businesses around us.

We’re growing. Dinner runs Wednesday to Saturday, brunch on Saturday and Sunday, and we’re adding Sunday dinner in the coming weeks, with some exciting events planned. We’re looking for an experienced manager to help take Vada to the next level.

The role

You’ll be a hands on manager who works the floor, leads our front of house team and takes real ownership of how the restaurant runs, reporting directly to the owner.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a front of house team of five, running service day to day and working the floor
• Own the rostering for the FOH team, building the roster around forecast covers and keeping labour cost on target
• Manage ordering and stock, working closely with our suppliers and growers
• Monitor labour costs and profit weekly, finding ways to increase profit and reduce staff costs without lowering standards
• Create and run incentives that reward staff for selling more
• Help guide our social media and communications, so our online presence reflects the restaurant
• Look after our wine and coffee offering, with confident knowledge of both, particularly natural wine
• Support events, group bookings and special evenings
• Maintain high standards of hospitality, hygiene, food safety and records alongside the kitchen team
• Build warm relationships with our regulars, our neighbours and the wider Stoneybatter community
• Work with the owner and head chef to keep the whole restaurant running smoothly

About you

• At least five years’ experience as a restaurant manager in a similar independent, quality focused restaurant
• Genuine passion for local food, natural wine and great coffee, with the knowledge to match
• Committed to zero waste and to respecting ingredients, suppliers and growers
• Strong with numbers: confident working with labour cost, margins and rosters
• A natural leader who motivates a small team and leads by example on the floor
• Warm, personable and happy to spend time getting to know our regulars
• Organised, calm under pressure and comfortable with HACCP and food safety standards
• Shares our vision and wants to help Vada grow and increase its profitability
• Available to work Wednesday to Sunday, including evenings and weekends

What we offer

• Salary of €40,000 - €45,000 depending on experience, plus a performance bonus linked to labour and profit targets
• A fixed five day week, Wednesday to Sunday
