Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Restaurant Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences, maintain high standards of food quality and service, and drive sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, financial and operational management skills, with the ability to control costs, manage inventory, develop teams and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations & Business Performance

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring efficient opening, service and closing procedures.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, increase revenue and maximise profitability.
• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, promotions and effective selling techniques.
• Monitor food costs, staff costs and operating expenses, implementing effective cost-control measures.
• Manage staff schedules and manpower requirements to optimise labour costs and operational efficiency.
• Prepare and submit accurate sales, operational, financial and performance reports to senior management.

Customer Experience & Service Standards

• Ensure exceptional customer experiences through consistent service standards, restaurant ambience and attentive guest engagement.
• Monitor customer feedback, handle complaints professionally and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain strong menu knowledge and ensure consistent food quality, presentation and service delivery.

Food Quality, Hygiene & Compliance

• Monitor food preparation, portion control, product quality, storage, labelling and food safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, hygiene requirements, health and safety regulations and operational procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections, address audit findings and maintain a minimum inspection score of 80%.
• Monitor food wastage, spoilage, breakage and stock losses, taking corrective action where required.

Inventory & Cost Control

• Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, non-food items, equipment and operating supplies.
• Ensure accurate stock requisitions, ordering, receiving, storage and stock rotation procedures.
• Conduct regular stock checks and monitor consumption, wastage and variances to maintain effective inventory control.
• Analyse food costs and operating expenses, identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or service.

Team Leadership, Sales & Development

• Lead, supervise and motivate the restaurant team, ensuring accountability and effective task delegation.
• Communicate sales targets, monitor individual and team performance, and motivate employees to achieve sales objectives.
• Train and coach team members on effective selling techniques, upselling, cross-selling and product recommendations to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
• Monitor staff performance, provide coaching and training, and identify development opportunities.
• Support recruitment through candidate screening and interviews in coordination with HR.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism and a positive working environment.

Communication & Professionalism

• Maintain strong, effective communication and coordination with all Head Office departments to ensure smooth operations, timely issue resolution and alignment with company policies and objectives.
• Demonstrate punctuality, commitment, flexibility and compliance with company policies and management instructions.
• Maintain professional communication with guests, colleagues, suppliers and senior management.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making, problem-solving and multitasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
