Position Summary

The Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to hotel guests and restaurant patrons. This position delivers a warm, professional, and attentive guest experience while accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining a clean dining environment, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the meal.

Essential Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.

• Present menus, explain food and beverage selections, and make recommendations when appropriate.

• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.

• Communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary restrictions clearly to the kitchen and management team.

• Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.

• Maintain proper table presentation, including silverware, glassware, napkins, and condiments.

• Monitor guest needs throughout the dining experience and provide prompt, attentive service.

• Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address concerns professionally.

• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and beverage offerings.

• Properly handle guest checks, payments, credit cards, and cash.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned tables, service stations, and dining areas.

• Assist with opening and closing duties, side work, and restaurant setup.

• Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, hosts, management, and other service staff.

• Follow all hotel, restaurant, sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol-service policies.

• Handle guest complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.

• Promote additional food and beverage selections when appropriate.

• Assist other team members as needed to maintain efficient and consistent service.

• Uphold the hotel's standards for hospitality, professionalism, appearance, and guest service.

Qualifications

• Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Professional appearance and positive attitude.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and carry food and beverage trays safely.

• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.

• Knowledge of POS systems preferred.

• Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service preferred.
