Summary of Position

The primary function of a Server is to adhere to hotel specifications and standards providing the highest quality of service to guests who are dining at The Westin Memphis Beale Street Hotel.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet guests and obtain their food and beverage orders.
• Provide menu recommendations, answer menu questions.
• Communicate orders and dietary restrictions to kitchen/bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Process guest orders in Point-of-Sale system.
• Process guest order payments in Point-of-Sale system; cash, credit card and room charges.
• Clean and reset tables at dining areas.
• Assist with opening/closing duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid TABC Certification to serve alcohol.
• Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
• Must be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Must have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
• Must be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

• Sunday through Saturday (various shifts)
