Sushi Ukai, a popular sushi restaurant in Glen Ellyn, is looking for dedicated full-time and part-time servers to join our team. **Our Hours:**

• **Monday to Thursday**: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

• **Friday & Saturday**: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

• **Sunday**: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

**What We’re Looking For:**

• At least 1 year of experience as a restaurant server.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver excellent customer service.

• Must be available to work weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).

• Reliable transportation to commute to work.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring efficient communication with kitchen staff
• Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
• Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and supporting kitchen staff with basic food handling and preparation when needed
• Manage cash handling and cashiering duties accurately, including processing payments and providing correct change
• Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction

Requirements

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining or nightclub settings preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is highly desirable
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to perform basic math for cashiering and order calculations accurately
• Previous experience in serving, bussing, host/hostess roles, or food industry positions is advantageous
• Basic kitchen experience or culinary knowledge is a plus for supporting food preparation tasks when necessary
