About Forno Pavese

Forno Pavese is a family-owned wood-fired Italian restaurant located in Chicago's Norwood Park neighborhood.

Our journey began with backyard pizza-making and grew through local farmers markets, community events, and three seasons operating our food truck before opening our brick-and-mortar restaurant.

Position Overview

We're seeking friendly, dependable, and motivated servers who understand the importance of delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Our ideal candidate takes ownership of their tables while recognizing that successful restaurant service requires teamwork. Whether it's running food, helping another server, or maintaining the dining room, everyone contributes to the guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of our food and beverage menu.
• Guide guests through our wood-fired pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, appetizers, desserts, and daily specials.
• Learn our wine, beer, and spritz offerings to confidently make recommendations.
• Accurately enter orders and process payments through our POS system.
• Run food and assist fellow servers during service.
• Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs.
• Bus, clean, and reset tables efficiently.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with takeout orders.
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining room and service areas.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of restaurant serving experience required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist teammates.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
• Willingness to learn our menu and beverage program.
• Ability to meet applicable Illinois alcohol service certification requirements.
