Restaurant Service Worker

Job Summary

What's Cooking is hiring a Restaurant Service Worker to support daily restaurant operations, customer service, food service, and dining area activities. This role assists with preparing and serving orders, maintaining clean and organized service areas, restocking supplies, and supporting the restaurant team during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
• Take customer orders and process payments accurately
• Assist with basic food and beverage preparation as needed
• Prepare, package, and serve customer orders accurately
• Support dine-in, takeaway, and pickup service
• Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming dining and service areas
• Clear and reset tables and maintain dining room cleanliness
• Restock food ingredients, beverages, utensils, packaging, and service supplies
• Wash and sanitize utensils, equipment, counters, and workstations
• Communicate customer requests and special instructions to kitchen and service staff
• Assist team members during busy service periods
• Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, cash-handling, and workplace safety procedures
• Assist with opening, closing, and general restaurant duties

Requirements

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience is an asset but not required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic math and payment-handling abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Ability to stand for extended periods and multitask

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a restaurant or food service environment
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and safe food handling
• Familiarity with POS and order-processing systems
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
• Good organization and time management skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
