Restaurant Service Worker

Job Summary

Mary Mac's Tea Room is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Restaurant Service Worker to support daily restaurant operations and provide a welcoming dining experience for guests. This role involves assisting with food and beverage service, handling orders, maintaining clean dining and service areas, restocking supplies, and supporting kitchen and front-of-house team members.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, courteous, and professional service.
• Assist with taking food and beverage orders accurately.
• Support the preparation and serving of restaurant menu items, Southern-style dishes, sides, desserts, and beverages.
• Help prepare ingredients, portion food, assemble orders, and package items as needed.
• Check orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper presentation.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, ingredients, and available options.
• Communicate special orders and dietary requests to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with point-of-sale transactions and customer payments when assigned.
• Clear and reset tables to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
• Maintain cleanliness in dining rooms, counters, service stations, and workspaces.
• Restock food supplies, beverages, utensils, napkins, containers, and other service items.
• Support kitchen staff, servers, hosts, and coworkers during busy service periods.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle food, dishes, equipment, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Report supply shortages, equipment concerns, and service issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
• Help maintain consistent food quality, order accuracy, and service standards.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional attitude throughout each shift.
• Perform other restaurant service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, dependable, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn menu details and restaurant service procedures.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.0 per week
