Job Summary

Market on Morehead is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused New American Restaurant Team Member to support daily restaurant operations and provide a positive dining experience. This role involves assisting guests, supporting food preparation and service, handling orders, maintaining clean work areas, restocking supplies, and collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist guests with menu questions, food selections, and general dining requests.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate special requests.
• Assist with preparing, assembling, plating, packaging, and serving menu items.
• Check orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper presentation.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Answer basic questions about menu items and direct ingredient or allergy-related questions to appropriate staff.
• Assist with point-of-sale transactions and customer payments as assigned.
• Clear and reset tables to maintain clean, organized dining areas.
• Keep counters, service stations, kitchen workspaces, and customer areas clean.
• Restock ingredients, utensils, napkins, containers, beverages, and other supplies.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and restaurant supplies.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Handle food, equipment, and restaurant supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Communicate guest concerns, supply shortages, and service issues to supervisors.
• Support kitchen and front-of-house coworkers during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general restaurant duties.
• Help maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and order accuracy.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support efficient daily operations.
• Perform other restaurant service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and established restaurant procedures.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn menu items, food preparation procedures, and service standards.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety practices.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and responsible work habits.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and performing hands-on tasks throughout a shift.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
