Restaurant Team Member – Front Counter & Kitchen Support

Lucita’s Pupuseria is a growing Salvadoran restaurant brand based in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, VA. We are seeking a full-time employee with flexible availability.

Role Overview:

Lucita's Pupuseria Express is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and motivated team member to join our growing restaurant team in Virginia Beach. We are a family-owned Salvadoran restaurant specializing in authentic pupusas and Latin American cuisine. Our Express location also supports food preparation, catering, and food truck operations. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position where teamwork and flexibility are essential. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working with customers, and is willing to help wherever needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take customer orders and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Prepare and assemble customer food orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning sauces, preparing ingredients, packaging food.
• Restock beverages, food items, packaging materials, and restaurant supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized front counter, kitchen, and food preparation area.
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, sanitize workstations, and complete general cleaning duties.
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities.
• Help prepare, package, and organize catering orders.
• Assist with food truck preparation, setup, service, and cleanup when scheduled.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Work cooperatively with other employees to ensure smooth daily restaurant operations.
• Perform other restaurant-related duties as needed.

Qualifications:
-Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Friendly and professional when interacting with customers.
• Able to follow directions and work independently when needed.
• Willing to perform both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities.
• Comfortable with cleaning, stocking, food preparation, and washing dishes.
• Restaurant, food service, or cashier experience preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus, but not required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform normal physical restaurant duties.

Schedule and Availability

• Regular weekday and weekend availability is important.
• Some shifts may begin early in the morning for food preparation or food truck operations.
• Other shifts may involve restaurant closing responsibilities.
• Occasional special events, catering orders, and food truck events may require evening or extended hours.
• Weekly hours and schedules will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation:

● Base Pay: $16–$19/hour

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 45.0 per week
