Project Estimator – Insurance Restoration, Reconstruction & Remediation

Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator with a strong background in insurance restoration, reconstruction, and remediation. This role is responsible for accurately assessing property damage, preparing detailed Xactimate estimates, developing comprehensive scopes of work, and collaborating closely with insurance adjusters, homeowners, Project Managers, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of both restoration and reconstruction, is highly proficient in Xactimate, and can confidently navigate the insurance claims process from initial loss through final reconstruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial properties to assess water, fire, smoke, mold, and other types of property damage.
• Prepare accurate, detailed Xactimate estimates and scopes of work for mitigation, remediation, demolition, and reconstruction.
• Document property conditions and damage through measurements, photographs, moisture readings, field observations, and other supporting documentation.
• Review insurance estimates and scopes of loss to identify discrepancies, omissions, and additional required work.
• Prepare and negotiate supplements related to hidden damage, code requirements, unforeseen conditions, and changes in scope.
• Estimate reconstruction and mitigation work, including drywall, framing, flooring, cabinetry, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and other building components.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners, insurance adjusters, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders throughout the estimating process.
• Maintain complete and accurate claim documentation and coordinate approved scopes with the production team.
• Manage multiple estimates, claims, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and project profitability.
• Ensure estimates and scopes are thorough, defensible, and aligned with industry standards and project requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Project Estimator in restoration, reconstruction, construction, or remediation.
• 2+ years of hands-on Xactimate experience preparing property damage estimates.
• Proven experience estimating water, fire, smoke, and mold losses.
• Strong understanding of residential and commercial construction methods and building components.
• Working knowledge of the insurance claims process, scopes of loss, supplements, and insurance adjuster estimates.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to accurately assess damage and develop complete, well-supported scopes of work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• IICRC knowledge or certifications are a plus.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
