The Opportunity

We are currently working with a market-leading US law firm that is looking to add a Restructuring Associate to its New York office .

The team is seeking candidates with significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in connection with liability management transactions , alongside broader restructuring experience.

The Practice

The practice has a broad restructuring offering, with work spanning creditor representations, debtor representations and distressed acquisitions .

The firm's market-leading creditor-side practice focuses on high-profile, top-of-the-capital-structure representations , advising clients including:

• Hedge funds
• CLOs
• Private equity funds
• Private credit providers
• Other financial institutions

The team represents these clients in both Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings , including sophisticated liability management transactions and complex capital structure situations.

On the debtor side, the team handles high-profile Chapter 11 cases, including cross-border matters, as well as significant out-of-court restructurings .

Associates will have the opportunity to gain exposure to:

• Liability management transactions
• Chapter 11 proceedings
• Out-of-court restructurings
• Creditor-side representations
• Debtor-side representations
• Distressed acquisitions
• Cross-border restructurings
• Complex capital structures and negotiations

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions
• 2+ years of experience within a sophisticated restructuring or bankruptcy practice
• Experience representing creditors, debtors or both
• Experience with Chapter 11 cases and/or out-of-court restructurings
• Strong understanding of complex capital structures and distressed situations
• Excellent analytical, drafting and negotiation skills
• Strong academic credentials
• New York Bar admission
