Restructuring Manager, Cayman Islands

12,000 investment funds registered in Cayman. Some in distress. A Big Four practice needs a Manager to unwind them. Zero income tax, picture perfect island life included.

Big Four restructuring in an offshore centre is different from its equivalent in London or Sydney. Teams are smaller and senior practitioners are closer to the work. At Manager level here, you drive the engagement from instruction through to close.

The role covers a portfolio of restructuring and insolvency engagements: formal appointments, contentious restructurings, forensic investigations and cross-border matters involving creditors and legal counsel across the US, UK, Europe and Asia. You lead and develop junior team members while managing client relationships across the portfolio. Business development in the Cayman market comes with the territory at this level.

You make decisions without waiting for the right answer to be handed to you, and you manage demanding creditors, lawyers and courts without losing your composure. Commercially, you know which issues drive value in a matter and which ones do not. What you are after is building a name in this market and the relationships that come with it!

About you

• 5+ years of restructuring and insolvency experience from a professional services firm
• A track record of managing cases end to end
• ACA, ACCA, CA, CA(SA) or US/Aus CPA
• A formal insolvency qualification (CPI or JIEB) is valued at Manager level
• Cross-border or offshore experience is a strong advantage but not a must
