What they need

Founded in 2008 by Los Angeles native Jeff Abrams, Rails has grown from a small label - started with just a single hat - into a full collection of women’s and men’s apparel. Sold at top international retailers and worn by a loyal following of celebrities and tastemakers, the brand has come to define a new classic heritage and relaxed sensibility. Rails is sold in 30 countries by more than 1000 retailers, including its own flagship stores in New York, San Francisco, Newport Beach, Paris, London and Amsterdam.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and hands-on Retail Activations Coordinator to support the development and execution of branded environments across our global retail and wholesale network.

Working closely with the Director of Retail Projects, this role will help bring seasonal campaigns, pop-ups, activations, shop-in-shops, events, and other brand moments from concept through installation. Projects will span our own retail stores as well as wholesale boutiques, department stores, showrooms, offices, and event spaces globally.

This role sits at the intersection of design, production, logistics, and project management. The ideal candidate has a strong visual eye but is equally comfortable developing shop drawings, coordinating vendors, tracking budgets and shipments, and managing the many details required to successfully execute an installation.

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative position with multiple projects running simultaneously. Strong organization, initiative, and time management are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of seasonal campaign displays, pop-ups, activations, events, and visual rollouts across global retail stores, wholesale partners, showrooms, offices, and event spaces.
  • Roll out window displays, signage, graphics, fixtures, props, and other visual elements, ensuring consistency across locations and formats.
  • Oversee and aid stores with vendors, collateral & branding for their small-scale retail events, as well as directly coordinating large scale brand events.
  • Create polished presentation decks with visual mockups and detailed shop drawings to communicate concepts internally, with vendors, and with wholesale partners. Coordinating with those partners to understand and meet all owner requirements.
  • Coordinate with fabricators, printers, installers, logistics providers, and other vendors, reviewing drawings, samples, and production deliverables for accuracy and design intent.
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, purchasing, shipping, delivery, production and shipment trackers, approvals, documentation, and installation logistics for domestic and international projects across all locations.
  • Develop clear installation guides and rollout packages and participate in on-site installations, store visits, and activations as needed.
  • Proactively troubleshoot design, production, budget, schedule, and logistical challenges, partnering with the Director of Retail Projects to keep projects moving forward.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in retail display installations, retail pop-ups, event brand activations, or project coordination, ideally within a contemporary fashion or lifestyle brand.
  • Strong understanding of and familiarity working with fixture development vendors, fabricators, signage/graphic printers, and other production processes.
  • Ability to create, read, and review detailed shop drawings.
  • Strong graphic design and visual presentation skills.
  • Experience managing project timelines, budgets, vendors, and logistics.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary retail environments and visual merchandising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and PowerPoint or other presentation-building applications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop preferred.
  • Experience preparing production-ready graphics and signage files.
  • SketchUp / 3D modeling experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be based in Los Angeles and able to work full-time from company headquarters.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to stores, showrooms, vendor sites, and installations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during installations or peak business periods.

Ideal Candidate:

You are equal parts creative and operational — someone who can manage timelines and spreadsheets while also having a strong eye for design and brand presentation. You are proactive, adaptable, highly organized, and energized by bringing retail experiences to life. Motivated by driving business in stores with both visual display and product allocation support.

Rails is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and building a diverse workplace in all its forms and considers candidates without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws. As an equal opportunity employer we welcome and consider all qualified applicants.
