About the role

We are seeking a Retail Assistant to join the team at Bundy Chop Shop in Bundaberg North, Queensland. This is a part-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to be part of our retail operations and contribute to delivering an exceptional customer experience. As a Retail Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our store, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and maintaining our store environment to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with product inquiries and provide knowledgeable recommendations to enhance their shopping experience
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
• Stock shelves and display areas with merchandise, ensuring products are attractively presented and clearly priced
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization and safety standards throughout your shift
• Receive and process incoming stock deliveries, checking goods against documentation
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, seeking to resolve issues to customer satisfaction
• Support the retail team in achieving sales targets and promoting store initiatives
• Comply with company policies, procedures and relevant retail legislation

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, though we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues
• Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work part-time hours as required by the business most of which is between school hours.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment
• Basic numeracy skills and comfort with operating point-of-sale systems or willingness to learn
• Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods
• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to provide excellent service
