Retail Assistant

P&A 2021 Limited is a well-established retail business offering everyday groceries and a range of specialty Indian products, with a focus on competitive pricing and friendly customer service. The business is seeking a reliable Retail Assistant to assist with day- to-day store operations in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. The ideal candidate will be proactive and able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver courteous and efficient customer service by assisting customers with product locations and responding to their enquiries.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process cash, card, and electronic transactions accurately.
• Replenish shelves, displays, and promotional areas, ensuring products are available and appropriately rotated.
• Update product price labels and promotional signage to reflect current pricing and store offers.
• Receive and unpack deliveries, placing stock in the correct storage areas while ensuring products are handled safely.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, organised, and presentable store throughout the trading day.
• Monitor stock levels and advise management of low stock, shortages, or any discrepancies identified.
• Participate in stocktakes and assist with stock control activities as required.
• Comply with store procedures covering hygiene, health and safety, and day-to- day operations.
• Support promotional activities and provide customers with relevant product information or recommendations when required.
• Report any suspicious, unusual, or concerning activity to management to support a safe and secure shopping environment.

The candidate will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $24 to $30 per hour.

Other Requirements:

• Relevant work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and a variety of shifts as required.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when carrying out assigned tasks.

Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour
