SUPERMARKET RETAIL ASSISTANT – OVERSEAS OPPORTUNITY WITH UK VISA SPONSORSHIP Job Overview Join our dynamic supermarket team as a Supermarket Retail Assistant, where your friendly attitude, reliability, and customer-focused approach will help create an excellent shopping experience. This opportunity is open exclusively to overseas candidates. Successful applicants will be provided with UK work visa sponsorship and the required sponsorship documentation by the employer. In this role, you will assist customers, replenish shelves, organize products, check prices and expiry dates, maintain attractive displays, and ensure the supermarket remains clean, safe, and well organized. You may also support checkout operations, stock control, deliveries, and other general store activities when required. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills in retail, customer service, stock handling, and supermarket operations while working in a supportive and fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities - Welcome customers politely and assist them in locating products. - Provide accurate information about products, prices, promotions, and availability. - Replenish shelves and arrange products neatly in the correct sections. - Check product labels, prices, packaging, quality, and expiry dates. - Remove damaged, expired, or incorrectly displayed products from the shelves. - Receive deliveries and assist with unloading, checking, and organizing stock. - Maintain stock records and report low-stock items to the supervisor. - Keep aisles, shelves, counters, storage areas, and workspaces clean and tidy. - Arrange promotional displays and ensure special offers are clearly presented. - Respond professionally to customers’ questions, requests, and concerns. - Operate the checkout counter and process cash, card, and electronic payments when required. - Pack customers’ purchases carefully and provide receipts. - Follow all supermarket health, safety, hygiene, and security procedures. - Collaborate with colleagues to achieve customer-service and store-performance targets. - Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor or store manager. Skills and Requirements - Good English communication skills. - A polite, friendly, and customer-focused attitude. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Basic numeracy skills for handling prices, payments, and stock quantities. - Ability to arrange products and maintain clean, attractive displays. - Ability to follow workplace instructions and safety procedures. - Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move stock safely. - Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required. - Ability to remain calm, helpful, and professional during busy periods. - Reliability, punctuality, honesty, and a strong work ethic. - Previous supermarket or retail experience is preferred but not essential, as training may be provided.
