Retail Assistant

Job Summary

Support daily retail operations, customer service, and basic inventory tasks. Assist with plant care, landscape projects, and events when required.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in opening and closing the store according to the assigned schedule.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organisation, and attractive product displays, including seasonal and promotional setups.
• Greet customers, provide basic product and plant care information, and refer technical enquiries to the Landscape Executive or Administrator.
• Process retail sales transactions and issue receipts accurately.
• Assist the Administrator with receiving goods, stock counting, labelling, and stock arrangement.
• Report low stock, damaged products, and plants requiring attention to the Administrator.
• Carry out watering, basic pruning, and routine plant care under guidance.
• Assist the landscape team with basic planting, site preparation, clearing, and moving tools, plants, and materials.
• Support loading and unloading activities, following safe handling procedures.
• Assist with workshops, events, promotional activities, and operations during peak periods.
• Follow company SOPs, workplace safety guidelines, and instructions when working in-store or on-site.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the Superior or Management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent; relevant retail, gardening, or landscape experience is an advantage.
• Fresh candidates with an interest in plants and a willingness to learn are welcome to apply.
• Friendly and helpful, with basic communication and customer service skills.
• Able to handle basic sales transactions and maintain accurate stock records.
• Physically able to carry out plant handling, loading, and outdoor tasks using appropriate equipment and safe working methods.
• Responsible, organised, and able to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Willing to work retail hours, weekends, and public holidays as scheduled, and attend project sites when required.

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,800.00 per month

Education:

• STM/STPM (Preferred)

Experience:

• Retail management: 1 year (Preferred)
