Retail Assistant (2 Positions)

We are currently seeking 2 Retail Assistants to join our busy Liquor Shop.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Number of Positions: 2
Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience
Work Schedule: Rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required. Retail Assistant – Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Assist customers with product selection and answer basic product-related queries.
• Operate the cash register and process cash, EFTPOS, and credit card transactions.
• Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with legal age requirements for alcohol sales.
• Receive, unpack, and stock liquor products on shelves and displays.
• Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the store, shelves, and displays.
• Ensure products are correctly priced and labelled.
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory control procedures.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor for theft or suspicious activity and report concerns to management.
• Assist with opening and closing store procedures.
• Promote special offers and seasonal products to customers.
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store sales and service goals.

Skills Required

Atleast 5 years of Customer facing experience would be essential

• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and move stock when required.
• Knowledge of liquor products is an advantage but not essential.
• Flexible to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays when required.

Previous retail sales experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential.
