Retail Assistant Manager

Our growing online comic store is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Manager to help oversee our daily operations and guide our team. This position starts part-time during a hands-on training period, with a guaranteed transition to full-time (at least 35 hours per week, usually across 5 days a week) once you are fully trained. You will work directly with ownership to ensure inventory is handled properly, orders are shipped accurately, and part-time staff members are supported. We need someone who understands that condition matters, brings previous supervisory experience, and wants a stable, full-time opportunity. Key Responsibilities

• Operations Oversight: Manage the daily workflow of bagging, boarding, organizing, updating, and packing incoming comic shipments.
• Quality Control & Shipping: Oversee the packing and shipping process to ensure top-tier accuracy and ensure fragile items are safely protected.
• Inventory & Store Management: Maintain accurate online store listings and track shipping supply levels (mailers, tape, boxes) to reorder before stock runs low.
• Team Leadership: Guide, train, and support part-time associates, keeping daily tasks on track during heavy shipment weeks.

Requirements

• Leadership Experience: Proven background in a supervisory, team lead, or management role.
• Dependability: Strong ability to work efficiently, manage time, and keep operations moving without constant oversight.
• Availability: Ability to work 4 to 5 days a week consistently, especially for busy opening days and distributions.
• Attention to Detail: Absolute precision regarding collectible condition, handling, and order accuracy.
• Physical Ability: Reliable transportation and the ability to lift and move heavy boxes of comics.
• Comics Familiarity: An interest in or basic familiarity with comics and pop culture is a plus, but not strictly required.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
