Retail Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Support daily store operations to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Maintain company standards for store cleanliness, visual merchandising, and product displays.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and routine operational checks.

Sales & Performance

• Work closely with the Retail Manager to achieve monthly sales targets and KPIs.
• Track daily sales performance and guide the team towards achieving their goals.
• Support the planning and execution of promotions and sales campaigns.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise full-time and part-time retail staff, ensuring effective duty rosters and adequate floor coverage.
• Coach, motivate, and support the team to strengthen sales and customer service skills.
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
• Support the Retail Manager in addressing attendance, minor staff concerns, and disciplinary matters.

Customer Experience

• Ensure every customer receives friendly, attentive, and professional service.
• Resolve customer concerns and escalations promptly and professionally.
• Build positive customer relationships that encourage repeat visits.

Inventory & Stock Control

• Monitor stock levels and support timely replenishment.
• Coordinate stock receiving, transfers, and stock counts.
• Highlight stock discrepancies, slow-moving products, and losses to management.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare sales, attendance, inventory, and KPI reports as required.
• Ensure the team follows company policies, standard operating procedures, and retail guidelines.
• Take charge of store operations in the Retail Manager’s absence.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum SPM qualification or a Diploma in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
• At least 2–3 years of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A sales-driven mindset and a passion for customer service.
• The ability to stay organised and perform well under pressure.
• Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
