Retail Assistant Manager

Trash and Vaudeville is looking for an Retail Assistant Manager for our 96 East 7th Street, East Village, NYC store. We are seeking a responsible, organized, and dependable individual who has a passion for retail and experience in management and inventory control.

The Assistant Manager will work closely with store management across all areas, including sales, back end management, merchandising, inventory, wholesale reorders and daily store operations.

Duties:

• Help manage daily operations
• Maintain inventory control and merchandising
• Maintain an organized stockroom and sales floor
• Monitor stock levels and identify items that need to be reordered
• Communicate inventory needs, customer feedback, product requests, and store issues to management
• Assist with wholesale reorders, including communicating with vendors and helping determine what merchandise should be reordered for the store
• Help ensure merchandise is properly priced, tagged, displayed, and accounted for
• Provide excellent, attentive customer service and help create a welcoming store environment
• Handle cash, registers, deposits, and daily cash reconciliation accurately
• Open and close the store when needed
• Help keep the store clean, organized, and operating efficiently
• Understand and communicate the needs / trends of our customers
• Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure the store runs smoothly

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in management and retail
• Familiar with alternative apparel, shoes, and accessories
• Familiar with the Trash and Vaudeville look / style / customer
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling
• Shopify experience is a plus
• Dependable and proactive
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities at once
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with the team efficiently
• Ability to work flexible days, including weekends/holidays
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to help with everything from customers and merchandising to receiving boxes and organizing stock

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
