Retail Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling procedures
• Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving issues promptly
• Oversee shift management, ensuring proper staffing levels and efficient task delegation to meet sales goals
• Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and purchasing processes to maintain optimal product availability
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, returns, and refunds accurately and efficiently
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining operational standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team
• Excellent communication skills, including managerial communication and phone etiquette
• Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation, sales management, and operational oversight
• Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in pricing, merchandising, and stock control
• Basic math skills for cash handling, payroll processing, budgeting, and retail math calculations
• Experience in grocery or similar retail environments is advantageous but not mandatory
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of customer service
