Retail Assistant Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and responsible Key Holder to join our retail team! As a Key Holder, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and leading by example in a fast-paced environment. You will be entrusted with opening and closing the store, managing daily operations, and supporting sales teams to meet and exceed goals. Duties

• Open and close the store securely, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
• Assist in managing daily store operations, including inventory control, merchandising, and stock replenishment
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product knowledge
• Support sales associates through coaching, training, and supervising team members to enhance performance
• Handle cash register operations using POS systems, including cashiering and cash handling responsibilities
• Assist with employee orientation, onboarding new team members, and supporting ongoing training & development initiatives
• Oversee inventory management tasks such as purchasing, stock organization, pricing adjustments, and inventory audits
• Ensure adherence to company policies on merchandising standards, pricing accuracy, and operational procedures
• Manage shift schedules, supervise team members during shifts, and communicate managerial directives effectively
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates for retail positions
• Maintain organized records related to payroll, bookkeeping, sales transactions, and operational reports

Experience

• Proven experience in retail sales management or supervisory roles within the retail industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, inventory management software, and basic math skills
• Strong leadership abilities with previous experience supervising teams or managing store operations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and provide clear managerial guidance
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Experience in negotiating with vendors or suppliers is a plus
• Familiarity with retail industry sales techniques such as upselling and cross-selling is advantageous
• Prior experience in grocery stores or wireless sales environments is beneficial but not required
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
