Retail Assistant (Volunteer)

Role Purpose

Support day-to-day store operations by assisting with quality checking, stock replenishment, customer service, and POS transactions. This role helps ensure surplus goods are handled safely and made accessible to the community.

Key Responsibilities

· Quality check incoming stock and ensure goods are fit for sale.

· Restock shelves and maintain clean, organised displays.

· Undertake light manual handling tasks (no use of mechanical equipment).

· Operate Shopify POS system once trained.

· Assist customers and provide friendly service.

· Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards.

Skills / Requirements

· Friendly and approachable manner.

· Ability to work in a team.

· Basic numeracy skills.

· Reliable and punctual.

· Willingness to learn and follow procedures.
