Retail Hardware Store Customer Service Associate (Entry-Level)

We are seeking part time Customer Service Associate's to join our team. Job includes providing friendly, helpful assistance to customers while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store. This is entry-level position provides on-the-job training and product knowledge support. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others and is eager to learn in a supportive, team-oriented work environment.

The position includes but is not limited to:

• Greet customers in a welcoming manner and assist them in locating products
• Provides outstanding customer service
• Answer basic questions about hardware items, tools, and home improvement supplies (training provided)
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain store appearance
• Drives sales through customers engagement and product knowledge
• Assist with inventory, including receiving, stocking and pricing merchandise
• Answer customer service phone calls
• Mix and match paint
• Cut keys, rope, wire, wood, etc
• Follow store policies and safety procedures

Physical Requirements Include:

• Standing for long periods
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Applicant must have flexible availability to work evenings, weekend shifts and Holidays.

• Friendly, positive, helpful attitude with a strong focus on assisting customers
• Retail or customer service experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person
• Willingness to learn about hardware products, tools, and basic home improvement needs
• Comfortable talking with customers and answering questions in -person and over the phone
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Basic math skills and handle cash transactions accurately while operating a point-of-sale (POS) system
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
