Retail IT Onsite Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Retail IT Onsite Engineer to support retail store operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting store IT infrastructure, including POS systems, mobile devices, printers, network equipment, and IT racks.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain retail IT equipment, including Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, iPads and iPhones software and hardware troubleshooting, receipt and label printers, desktop, iPhone, iPad configuration or replacement, and network devices and peripherals
• Perform onsite IT support and troubleshooting for store operations
• Set up and organize IT racks, including cable management and equipment installation
• Understand and interpret network topology diagrams and connectivity requirements
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, and network settings and related hardware
• Understand IT power distribution and power diagrams for retail environments
• Maintain store IT infrastructure to ensure operational stability
• Coordinate with vendors, store management, and regional IT teams during deployments and support activities
• Perform hardware replacement, software installation, and system upgrades when required
• Provide technical guidance and support to store staff

About you

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in IT support, field services, or retail IT operations
• Hands-on experience with POS systems, Apple iOS devices (iPad/iPhone), network printers, and retail IT infrastructure
• Good understanding of LAN/WAN networking, Wi-Fi deployment and troubleshooting, network topology diagrams, IT rack installation and management, and power distribution and IT equipment power requirements
• Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite activities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
