Role Description

The Retail Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day store operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role oversees sales performance, team leadership, merchandising standards, inventory control, and operational efficiency. The Retail Manager sets clear expectations, motivates the team, and ensures that the store consistently meets business and service standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, coach, and motivate the retail team to achieve sales and service goals.
• Manage daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
• Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities, and implement actions to drive revenue and profitability.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
• Oversee inventory management, stock accuracy, replenishment, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Ensure visual merchandising, product presentation, and store standards are consistently maintained.
• Support staff scheduling, performance management, training, and development.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and applicable safety standards.
• Analyse store performance and provide regular updates and recommendations to management.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and customer-focused team culture.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
• Strong leadership, people-management, and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with a results-oriented mindset.
• Good organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working with sales targets, KPIs, inventory data, and operational reports.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with retail POS and inventory systems.
• Flexible, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced retail environment.
