What they need

Retail & Golf Shop Manager

JOB TYPE Full-time

REPORTS TO Director of Operations

About the Role

The Shop at SkyRidge is a high-end boutique, golf shop, and luxury resort shop serving golfers, resort guests, and local clients. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Retail & Golf Shop Manager to lead staffing, sales, merchandising, inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, events, financial performance, and the overall guest experience. This is not an office-only role: the manager will regularly work on the sales floor and spend scheduled time behind the counter checking golfers in, confirming tee times, processing payments, and coordinating with golf operations.

Key Responsibilities

– Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, counsel, evaluate, recognize, and manage the performance of retail associates; lead meetings and active on-floor coaching.

– Set, model, and enforce Five Diamond-level guest service, professional presentation, product knowledge, and selling standards; respond promptly to guest and staff concerns and follow up to confirm satisfaction.

– Analyze staffing needs, prioritize daily and weekly work, work scheduled shop shifts, and regularly perform Retail Associate duties when coverage is needed.

– Maintain the vision, brand standards, merchandising, pricing, stock levels, displays, and luxury presentation of all on-property retail outlets; execute scheduled markdowns.

– Monitor sales and product sell-through, contribute to annual budgets and financial goals, and coach associates on product storytelling, suggestive selling, and cross-selling.

– Regularly work behind the counter to check golfers in, confirm reservations and guest information, process golf and retail payments, provide basic golf information, and coordinate changes or special requests with the Director of Golf and golf operations team.

– Oversee receiving, inventory records, purchase orders, monthly physical inventory, discrepancy research, and replenishment; accurately manage cash, credit cards, gift cards, refunds, consignment products, vendor returns, and return authorizations.

– Plan and execute trunk shows, in-store events, product launches, and vendor-supported activations; maintain clean, guest-ready front- and back-of-house areas.

– Maintain strong working relationships with Retail Associates, Sales & Marketing, the Director of Golf, Managing Director, Purchasing, ownership, guests, vendors, and the external retail consultant; participate in monthly meetings, site visits, or calls.

Required Qualifications

Five years of upscale or luxury retail experience and five years of supervisory, management, or retail leadership experience.

Proven ability to hire, train, coach, counsel, evaluate, and manage employees.

Exceptional communication, luxury guest-service, and selling skills.

Experience with cash handling, transactions, merchandise receiving, inventory, purchase orders, markdowns, and inventory or purchasing systems.

Basic arithmetic skills and strong organization, judgment, prioritization, and time management.

Willingness to work regular shop shifts and personally perform golf check-in duties.

Preferred Qualifications

Luxury boutique, Five Diamond resort, hotel, private club, or destination-retail experience.

Knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, apparel, accessories, and equipment.

Experience with tee sheets, golf reservations, club-management systems, trunk shows, or vendor events.

Schedule & Physical Requirements

Flexible full-time hospitality schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, events, and seasonal peaks.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, use stairs, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information: This description summarizes the position and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs. Schedules may change based on volume and demand. Employment is at will and this description does not create an express or implied contract. Work location is in person at The Shop at SkyRidge within the ParOne building in Mayflower Mt, Utah
