Retail Manager

About the role

The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, driving sales performance, managing store staff, maintaining operational standards, and achieving profitability targets.

Key responsibilities

Sales & Business Performance

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
• Monitor store KPIs, sales trends, and profitability.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve sales performance.
• Maximize conversion rate, average transaction value, and customer traffic.

Store Operations

• Manage day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and security requirements.
• Maintain store presentation and visual merchandising standards.
• Monitor stock availability and replenishment activities.

Team Management

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop store team members.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback.
• Manage staff scheduling to optimize labor productivity.
• Foster a positive and high-performing work environment.

Customer Service

• Ensure excellent customer experience at all times.
• Handle customer complaints and escalations professionally.
• Implement customer engagement and loyalty initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of service across all customer touchpoints.

Inventory & Merchandising

• Monitor inventory levels and stock accuracy.
• Oversee stock receiving, storage, replenishment, and stock counts.
• Reduce stock loss, shrinkage, and damaged inventory.
• Ensure proper product placement and promotional execution.

Financial & Administrative Control

• Manage store expenses within approved budgets.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and banking procedures.
• Prepare sales, inventory, and operational reports.
• Maintain compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field.
• 5+ years of retail experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Good analytical and commercial acumen.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail POS systems.
