Egmont Seafoods is a well-established, family-owned seafood business serving over 1,000 customers every week. Our retail store is the customer-facing heart of our business—it's where our brand comes to life and where lasting impressions are made.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Retail Fish Shop Manager to lead our retail operation, inspire our team and help create an exciting retail experience that keeps customers coming back. This is an opportunity to champion the Egmont Seafoods brand, showcase premium local seafood and continually find new ways to engage our customers both in-store and online.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position offering the opportunity to make a real impact on the future direction of our retail business.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy retail store while identifying opportunities to improve customer experience, increase sales and drive business growth.

As the leader of the customer-facing side of our business, you'll be responsible for creating an inviting retail environment, maintaining presentation standards and delivering an experience that reflects the quality of our products. You'll also help build excitement around the Egmont Seafoods brand through merchandising, new product launches, social media and our e-commerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of retail staff.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain outstanding presentation of the retail store and seafood displays.
• Ensure strict cold chain management and food safety standards are maintained from delivery through to sale.
• Manage stock levels, ordering and minimise waste across all product lines.
• Identify and introduce new seafood products and value-added opportunities to increase sales.
• Create excitement around the Egmont Seafoods brand through seasonal promotions, merchandising and in-store displays.
• Develop engaging content and manage the company's social media platforms.
• Oversee our e-commerce platform, ensuring products, pricing and promotions remain current.
• Monitor retail performance and implement initiatives to improve sales and profitability.
• Prepare staff rosters and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to grow the retail side of the business.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people and has a genuine passion for fresh food retail.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience managing a retail team.
• Experience working with fresh or perishable products (seafood, meat, produce or similar).
• A strong understanding of cold chain management and product quality.
• Excellent merchandising and store presentation skills.
• Experience managing or contributing to social media marketing.
• Confidence using or managing an e-commerce platform (WooCommerce experience would be an advantage).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to identify new sales opportunities.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to work alongside the team.
