We are looking for a Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur, representing both our fine jewellery (Aarasz Fine Jewellery) and shawl (Loom & Lacquer) collections.

Requirements

• Good command of English and Chinese.

• Well-groomed, presentable and confident when communicating with customers.

• Friendly, approachable and customer-oriented with a positive attitude.

• Passionate about jewellery, fashion and luxury retail.

• Willing to learn about jewellery, gemstones, Pashmina shawls and luxury products.

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality or sales is an advantage.

• Able to work according to shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.

• Responsible, attentive to detail and able to work well as part of a team.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Sales

  • Welcome and assist customers in a warm, professional and personalised manner.
  • Introduce, demonstrate and recommend our fine jewellery and shawl collections based on customers’ preferences and needs.
  • Actively recommend suitable products, provide product information, and identify opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling.
  • Assist customers with jewellery selection, styling and gift recommendations.
  • Follow through from initial enquiries and expressions of interest through to sales and post-sale support.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships while providing excellent service.

• Sales & Administration

  • Handle sales transactions, quotations, invoices and customer follow-ups accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare daily sales reports and other reports as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all customer, sales and company information.
  • Report to the Senior Sales Manager and Director on sales, customer matters and other relevant issues.

• Boutique Operations

  • Maintain an attractive, clean and well-presented boutique, including jewellery and shawl displays.
  • Assist with stock arrangement, stock checks and the safe handling of all jewellery and merchandise.
  • Carry out opening and closing duties according to company procedures.
  • Assist with general day-to-day boutique operations.

• Events & Teamwork

  • Participate in exhibitions, bazaars and other company events when required.
  • Work cooperatively with the team and contribute to a positive and professional working environment.
  • Support and assist team members in achieving overall sales and service goals.
  • Take on additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Senior Sales Manager or Director.
