Retail Sales Assistant

Partyrama is one of the UK’s leading party-supplies companies. Established more than 35 years ago, we provide high-quality partyware, balloon décor and event supplies to customers in-store and online.

Our retail stores in Bletchley and Kingston remain at the heart of our business, and we are now looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

This is a varied role covering both of our retail stores and, occasionally, our warehouse in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be flexible, hardworking and comfortable travelling between locations when required.

You will help create a welcoming shopping experience, advise customers on our products and keep our stores organised, well stocked and ready for trade.

This is initially a three-month temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent depending on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Speak with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
• Keep the shop floor tidy, well organised and visually appealing.
• Restock shelves and arrange merchandise.
• Stay informed about products, promotions and store policies.
• Answer telephone enquiries and take customer orders professionally.
• Suggest relevant additional products to improve the customer experience and support sales.
• Operate the tills and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
• Complete end-of-day till and closing procedures.
• Carry out daily store recovery, ensuring the shop is clean, tidy and well stocked for the next trading day.
• Assist with deliveries, stock movement and general shop upkeep.
• Work closely with colleagues to meet store goals and maintain excellent customer-service standards.
• Provide occasional support at our Milton Keynes warehouse.
• Carry out other reasonable duties to support the wider team.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous retail experience, which is essential for this role.
• Ideally has previous experience as a retail supervisor, team leader or manager.
• Is friendly, reliable and enthusiastic.
• Enjoys helping customers and providing excellent service.
• Can manage several tasks during busy trading periods.
• Is organised and has good time-management skills.
• Takes a proactive approach to solving problems.
• Works well both independently and as part of a team.
• Is flexible and willing to work across different locations.
• Is physically able to lift and move stock and assist with deliveries.
• Is available to work a varied rota, including weekdays and weekends.

A full UK driving licence is preferred due to travel between locations.
