Position: Retail Sales Assistant
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: Minimum 8 hours per week, with additional hours available for the right candidate
Working Pattern: Evenings and weekends

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at SPAR in Portrush. This is a permanent, part-time position, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a busy retail environment.

The successful candidate will help ensure the shop runs smoothly, provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming store.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating tills and handling customer transactions accurately.
• Providing friendly, helpful and efficient customer service.
• Replenishing shelves and putting out stock deliveries.
• Serving ice cream, cold drinks and other refreshments.
• Keeping the shop floor, counters and work areas clean and tidy.
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and hygiene.
• Checking stock levels and ensuring products are displayed neatly.
• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day shop duties as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with customers.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team.
• Hardworking, enthusiastic and able to use their initiative.
• Flexible and available to work evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable working in a busy environment and handling a variety of tasks.

Previous retail experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
