Job Overview – Sales Associate at Moores Chapel Tobacco & Vape

Moores Chapel Tobacco & Vape is a locally owned smoke shop serving the Charlotte community with a wide selection of premium vaping products, tobacco products, cigars, hemp products, beverages, and smoking accessories. We are looking for dependable, customer-focused Sales Associates to provide exceptional service while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant retail environment.

This role is more than simply operating a register—you'll help customers find the products they're looking for, maintain inventory and merchandising standards, and ensure all company policies and procedures are followed throughout every shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally and create a welcoming shopping experience.
• Assist customers in selecting products including disposable vapes, e-liquids, cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, nicotine pouches, hemp products, beverages, and smoking accessories.
• Maintain knowledge of the products we carry and stay informed about new arrivals and industry trends.
• Operate the POS system accurately for sales, returns, exchanges, and discounts.
• Verify identification and comply with all federal, state, and company age-verification requirements.
• Restock shelves, coolers, and displays while maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised sales floor throughout each shift.
• Follow all company cash handling, security, and loss prevention procedures.
• Report inventory discrepancies, damaged merchandise, and customer concerns to management.
• Work collaboratively with team members to provide excellent customer service and meet store expectations.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience required.
• Experience in a smoke shop, vape shop, convenience store, or similar retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable learning about a variety of tobacco, nicotine, hemp, and smoking products.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid government-issued ID.
• Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is preferred.
