Retail Sales Associate

Overview

We are looking for a sales associate for our window treatment showroom opening in November. Sales experience preferred, but not mandatory. Looking for somebody with an eye for design, as you will regularly need to recommend colors, fabrics and styles to customers in need of window treatments. Should be willing to travel to customers homes to close sales, collect deposits, and do in-home consultations or take rough measurements of window openings .

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting plants, gardening supplies, outdoor tools, and landscape materials
• Provide expert advice on lawn care, landscape maintenance, plant identification, and floral design to enhance customer satisfaction
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves with seasonal products and gardening essentials
• Support inventory management through stocking, inventory checks, and replenishment of merchandise
• Answer customer inquiries via phone communication and in person, offering tailored solutions for outdoor projects
• Assist with e-commerce orders by coordinating online sales pickups or deliveries when applicable

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in design related fields (furniture, accessories, window treatments)
• Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and retail math for accurate transactions
• work experience demonstrating comfort working in showroom as well as in customer homes
• Strong communication skills to educate customers on product features
• Organizational skills to manage stock levels, merchandising displays, and inventory records effectively

Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
