Retail Sales Associate / Front Desk Associate

TuTu Fun is a creative DIY art studio and retail store at Irvine Spectrum Center. We offer hands-on craft experiences and carry squishies, blind boxes, toys, craft supplies, and creative lifestyle products.

We are looking for friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented team members who enjoy helping customers and keeping a busy store organized. This role focuses primarily on retail sales, cashier duties, and front desk guest service.

Availability & Scheduling

We are expanding our team for the busy holiday season. Priority will be given to applicants with consistent availability during one or more of these windows:

• Fridays: daytime and/or evening availability between 10 AM and 10 PM.
• Mondays and Wednesdays: opening and daytime availability starting at 9 AM, and/or evening availability through 10 PM.
• Tuesdays and Thursdays: evening availability through 10 PM.
• Sundays: late afternoon and evening availability, especially 5–9 PM.

These are availability windows, not individual shift lengths. Applicants do not need to be available for every window listed. Friday availability is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Customer Service & Front Desk

• Welcome customers warmly and proactively offer assistance.
• Explain retail products, DIY project options, pricing, promotions, and store policies clearly.
• Help customers choose products and answer questions patiently.
• Assist with walk-in inquiries, reservation check-in, and party guest arrivals.
• Communicate customer concerns calmly and involve the manager or shift lead when needed.
• Follow store policies for product inspections and exchange requests; refer refund requests and policy exceptions to management.

Cashier & Retail Operations

• Process cash and card payments, approved discounts, gift cards, and receipts accurately.
• Package purchases and completed customer projects carefully.
• Keep shelves, product displays, and checkout areas organized and well-stocked.
• Check that price tags, labels, and promotional signs are accurate.
• Receive, unpack, label, and organize inventory as needed.
• Report low-stock items, damaged products, and inventory discrepancies to the manager or shift lead.

Store Upkeep & Teamwork

• Clean and maintain the checkout area, displays, tables, shelves, and floors throughout the shift.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking checklists.
• Stay productive between customers by checking supplies, organizing merchandise, and completing assigned tasks.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and follow through on shift handoffs.
• Remain patient, professional, and attentive during busy periods.

Team members will learn how to introduce our DIY experiences and support guest flow. Hands-on craft instruction may be added after training and management approval.

Qualifications

• Retail, cashier, customer service, or family entertainment experience is preferred.
• Friendly, dependable, and comfortable initiating conversations with customers.
• Able to explain products and policies clearly and professionally in English.
• Strong attention to detail, including accurate cash handling, pricing, and product counts.
• Comfortable learning POS systems and following written instructions and checklists.
• Able to prioritize tasks and serve customers in a busy environment.
• Willing to help with routine cleaning, restocking, and organization.
• Able to perform duties involving standing, walking, bending, and restocking, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely communication are essential.
• Applicants must be 18 or older.

This is an in-person position at TuTu Fun, Irvine Spectrum Center. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Irvine Spectrum Center.
