Retail Sales Associate-pet store

About the Position

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our pet grooming and retail store in downtown Toronto.

The ideal candidate is passionate about pets, enjoys helping customers, and takes initiative in their daily work. We are looking for someone who can provide excellent customer service, help grow retail sales, and keep the store running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.

• Recommend and sell pet food, treats, and other pet-related products.

• Answer customer questions about products and assist with product selection.

• Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions.

• Manage grooming appointments, bookings, and customer inquiries by phone and in person.

-Receive deliveries, organize inventory, restock shelves, and maintain product displays.

-Assist with social media content and promotions when needed.

• Keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming.

• Take initiative and stay productive during quieter periods.

• Assist with other daily store operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales or customer service experience is preferred.

• Experience in a pet store, pet grooming business, or the pet industry is an asset.

• Genuine interest in pets and knowledge of pet products are strong advantages.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Comfortable using computers, booking systems, and point-of-sale systems.

• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.

• Must be available to work the full schedule, including both Saturday and Sunday.

Work Schedule

• Wednesday–Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM- Monday–Tuesday: Days off

Compensation

Starting wage of $18.00 per hour, with consideration for relevant experience and skills.
